The Salishan Resort & Spa- A Pacific Northwest Must See
/Should you ever find yourself visiting the Pacific Northwest The Salishan Resort & Spa is an absolute must see. The 250 acre, all-inclusive resort & recreation destination is the perfect combination of old and new. It’s plush beds w/ crisp white linens. It’s warm woods, loads of natural light, gorgeous gardens and cozy spaces. It’s fine dining, ariel adventures & relaxing oasis’s. It’s tennis, a Peter Jacobson designed 18-hole golf course, hiking & biking! It’s swimming, hot tubbing & yoga. It’s local wines, Beachcrest Brewing Co. & yappy hour (That’s right, they’re even pet friendly!). The Salishan Resort literally has something for everyone!!!
THE MAIN LODGE
You enter the Salishan off of Highway 101. You’ll check into The Main Lobby before driving to your room & parking under a carport. (I found the parking a bit tight, as cars have increased in size over the decades.) Rest assured, there are covered walkways connecting the entire resort, aside from the Spa & Shops at Salishan, which are directly across the highway. Everything is in walking distance should you choose to do so. The Main lodge is also where you’ll return to dine if you want to visit The Dining Room, Sun Room, or Attic Lounge. This is also where the complimentary bikes are stored. I highly suggest taking a leisurely ride down to the beach. The staff is friendly & knowledgeable. Everything is always taken care of and with the utmost thought & care. I personally appreciate being pampered while vacationing and this is something that just comes naturally to the Salishan staff.
THE LUXURY SPA
The Salishan spa is full of stone, rustic woods, bright natural light and the best robes & spa sandals a girl could ask for. (The spa sandals have been upgraded since the shooting of their website.) Everything is soft, plush, pristine and oh, so cozy!!!
This spa’s bay-front, outdoor, co-ed infinity soaking pool sets the Salishan Spa miles apart the competition. The combination of fresh sea air combined with the warm, jetted tub offers a euphoric experience unlike any other after indulging in both the sauna & steam rooms.
The solarium shares these same stunning views behind floor to ceiling windows. The warmth of the fire, plush spa robes and bright natural light are yet again the perfect recipe for relaxation. Adding a glass of rose doesn't hurt either!
Whether you're here to indulge in the amenities or experience everything this full service spa has to offer, I assure you, you're going to be absolutely delighted and planning your next pamper sesh before checkout!
THE DINING ROOM
The Dining Room is a formal dining experience. It’s the perfect place to celebrate, getaway (#datenight) or simply enjoy the finer things in life. Reservations are available Thursday through Saturday. The Dining Room is small, intimate, filled with natural light & gorgeous garden views during the day. The atmosphere is immaculate, abstract, warm and inviting. The wood tables have character, much like the bulk of the Salishan, full of history! The staff is seasoned, the wine glasses are Riedel and the Oregon Coast inspired cuisine is world class.
“The scallops were beyond tender, almost sweet with the perfect golden brown crust. The accompanying quail eggs balanced out the sweetness, adding a rich, creamy note that took this dish to the next level. The bed of cauliflower is a nice surprise and brings a dense, crunchy texture into this otherwise melt in your mouth main. An adornment of micro greens cleanses the pallet and leaves you wanting more.” -Lenna Hulings
THE ATTIC BAR & LOUNGE
This is the perfect place to sip a creative cocktail (You haven’t lived until you’ve had a Western Meadows!), grab lunch or enjoy a less formal dining experience. It’s warm & it’s retro!!! There’s live music every weekend, loads of natural light, a floor to ceiling double-sided stone fireplace & the feature bar wall is exquisite. Again, it's small and intimate, but full of flavor & flare! The Attic even offers a view of the bay and the sunset views from the deck are reason enough to visit, but the attic doesn't stop there. Seating extends outside and includes gas heaters & fire pits for all the feels!!!
THE SUNROOM
This venue is relaxed and reminiscent of home. It’s family dining at it’s finest. The menu encompasses all ages of guests with all types of pallets & dietary restrictions. I am positive, this is a place you’ll be frequenting while on property. I highly suggest starting one of your mornings off with the Eggs in a Nest! It was full of flavor & protein, but left me feeling light and ready to seize the day! The Sun Room offers stunning views of the golf course and outside eating accommodations, weather permitting.
GUEST ROOMS
The recently renovated guest rooms at the Salishan are full of rustic touches and warm textures. It’s a truly luxurious combination that is felt throughout the space. There’s ample seating, a cozy fireplace & plush beds. Breath easy on your balcony and take in the views in a setting perfect for two. Choose between the Siletz Bay (Minimal traffic noise.), gorgeous golf course or old Oregon firs. The tubs are jetted. There’s a full length mirror and the room is complete with a mini-fridge and microwave that makes in-room dining the perfect experience. (Please note, in-room dining is delivered in a ‘to-go’ fashion.) There’s even a coffee bar to make your mornings feel just like home.
I hope I painted a picture of just how unforgettable the Salishan Resort is. It truly is an item I suggest adding to your bucket list and more truthfully, budgeting into your yearly getaways. I myself, hope to be returning soon and adding my views of both the ariel park and all things golfing for my upcoming 8th year anniversary!
